Hello!

Hello!

First and foremost: thank you for visiting my blog. I long debated whether I should start one and now I've finally taken the leap. In January 2014 I bought a notebook detailing everything I would be writing about but then...then I hesitated. Today I came home after work and just needed an outlet to talk and discuss and so BakongoBelle was born. Up until recently I even had an album on my Facebook account with the same name, I posted pictures of my everyday life and it was received well by friends and family members. But I felt like I had more to say, I needed a bigger outlet. So without taking more of your time, let me introduce myself.

I'm a soon to be 30 years young lady who has been living in Belgium for over two decades. I'm originally from Luanda (Angola) but my family migrated here a long time ago and we've been here ever since. The name of my blog comes from one of the most prominent ethnic groups in Angola: The Bakongo. My aim with this blog is to document the next decades of my life, Godwilling. I will write about topics ranging from Biblical womanhood to hair, food and more. I also love the idea of filling a void in the sense that Black women have very few outlets where their opinion and worldviews can be heard. I hope to be one voice in the midst of many others that are already part of the online world. Welcome and take this journey with me!
