Bachelorette chow: Sweet seedless plum muffins
So, still within the spirit of focusing on desserts, here's a recipe I tried prior to the apple pastry empanadas. Don't want to give off the vibe that my recipes succeed every single time or at the first attempt. It's quite the contrary, it usually takes me up to 3 attempts before I get it right.
The first dessert I tried to make, was one I had been thinking about for the longest time: sweet seedless plum muffins. Since my goal is to consume less sugar, I thought using a dried fruit with much natural sugar would do the work.
Usually, I try to only use like 5 ingredients for baking. I got the idea from how brownies are made. So here's what I used:
The first dessert I tried to make, was one I had been thinking about for the longest time: sweet seedless plum muffins. Since my goal is to consume less sugar, I thought using a dried fruit with much natural sugar would do the work.
Usually, I try to only use like 5 ingredients for baking. I got the idea from how brownies are made. So here's what I used:
1. All purpose flour
2. Sweet seedless dried plums
3. Three organic eggs
4. Almond milk
5. Cream butter
The sweet seedless plums are rather expensive in my opinion, but it's not like I would be
making this dessert all the time. It's a real treat in this sense.
Ingoing with the same way brownies are baked, first I mixed the
seedless plums with the butter, in the hope that the two would mix well.
But that didn't work at all, in fact it all only got mixed up after having added the eggs.
Upon till then it all was going great, until it became time to bake it. Unfortunately,
I used the wrong setting and that ruined everything.
So it looks good on the outside, but it never actually baked on the inside.
It also tasted too acidic for my taste,
so I might incorporate edible baking soda to this recipe, to remedy the situation.
Any tips y'all might have to help me salvage this recipe, are very welcome.
Stay tuned for more!
